What is Zinc?

Zinc is an essential trace mineral that plays a fundamental role in human biology. It is the second most abundant trace mineral in the body after iron and is required for the activity of over 300 enzymes involved in virtually every aspect of metabolism. Zinc is present in every cell, where it supports protein synthesis, DNA synthesis, cell division, and immune function.
