Nettle stands out for its exceptionally rich mineral profile. While many green leafy plants contain some minerals, nettle is remarkably high in iron (around 1.5 mg per gram of leaf), calcium, magnesium, potassium, and silicon. It is also one of the few plants that bioaccumulates silicon, contributing to its historical reputation for supporting hair, skin, and nail health. The presence of iron, which contributes to normal red blood cell formation and oxygen transport, adds to nettle’s nutritional value in our formula.

Fresh nettle leaves are harvested during the early growth stage when nutrient content is highest. They are then dried and processed into a 10:1 extract using a water or water-alcohol extraction method. This extraction process concentrates the beneficial compounds while removing the leaf hairs that cause the familiar sting. The resulting extract provides the nutritional benefits of nettle in a safe, easy-to-consume form. Our 100 mg serving of 10:1 extract is equivalent to approximately 1,000 mg of dried nettle leaf.

Nettle leaf is generally well tolerated at supplement levels, but it does have mild diuretic properties and may interact with certain medications. Those taking diuretics (water tablets), blood pressure medications, blood thinners, or lithium should consult a doctor before using nettle supplements.
