Are food supplements safe?

Yes — when manufactured to high standards and used as directed. Food supplements in the EU are regulated under Directive 2002/46/EC, which sets maximum permitted levels, labelling requirements, and manufacturing standards. Nutri-Leaf products are manufactured by our FSSC 22000 certified manufacturing partner, under FSSC 22000 food safety certification — one of the highest international standards for supplement production.

Manufacturing standards: what to look for

FSSC 22000

The Food Safety System Certification 22000 combines ISO 22000:2018 with ISO/TS 22002-1:2009 prerequisites. It covers the entire production chain — from raw material sourcing to finished product testing. Nutri-Leaf's manufacturer holds the current FSSC 22000 certificate, issued by Quality Austria Certification GmbH, Vienna (Certificate No. FSS-00263/0, valid until 17 January 2027).

GMP — Good Manufacturing Practice

GMP ensures products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards. It covers premises, equipment, personnel, sanitation, and quality control. FSSC 22000 incorporates and exceeds GMP requirements.

Analytical testing

Analytical verification of specifications for potency, purity, and dissolution is performed within the certified quality management system, with certificates of analysis maintained on file.

Safe usage guidelines

• Follow the dosage: One capsule daily means one capsule daily. More is not better with supplements.
• Do not exceed the recommended daily intake: Labels specify maximum intakes for a reason.
• Keep out of reach of young children: Supplements can look like sweets to children. Store securely.
• Consult a healthcare professional if: pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription medication, or managing a medical condition.
• Store properly: Cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Proper storage maintains potency.
